Japan's earthquake has a greater impact on the supply of solar module materials

In the first half of 2011, the demand for the solar energy market continued to be strong. Under the condition of shortage of materials, the impact of the 311 earthquake on polycrystalline germanium sources attracted much attention. Of the 4 producers that produced polycrystalline germanium in Japan, except for M. Setek, they mostly supplied semiconductor production capacity. The main reason is that Japan's solar grade polysilicon production capacity accounts for a low proportion of the world, so the impact of the earthquake on global solar resource supply is limited.

On the other hand, in terms of solar module materials, Japanese companies have a leading position in the world. If the regional power curtailment status continues, the already tight supply of peripheral materials for modules will be further aggravated.

Japan plays a leading role in polysilicon upstream materials. It is located in Japan's four polycrystalline silicon plants. Only AUO's M. Setek and Tokuyama have some solar energy production capacity, and the rest are mostly polycrystalline silicon for semiconductors.

Tokuyama's polycrystalline silicon plant is located in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The impact of the earthquake on it is limited. On the contrary, M. Setek is located in the center of the disaster area and is affected greatly. Of M. Setek’s existing 7,000 metric tons of capacity, 3,000 metric tons of polycrystalline silicon actually affect production capacity, and another 4,000 metric tons of capacity is being trial-produced, with little impact on solar upstream feedstock supply.

DIGITIMES Research estimates that the total supply of polysilicon for solar energy in the world in 2011 is about 160,000 - 170,000 metric tons. Although the current situation of solar polycrystalline silicon material shortage is serious, the Japanese earthquake has limited impact on solar polycrystalline silicon material sources.

In 2010, the production capacity of solar wafers in Japan was 1,360MWp, accounting for only 5% of the world's solar wafer capacity. Except for M. Setek, the others were all located in the Kansai area. The impact was limited by the earthquake, only 120MW of M. Setek. The chip-cut production capacity is affected, but it will not affect the global supply of solar wafers.

Hand Movement Dump Truck

Dump trucks come in various sizes, ranging from small ones used for residential construction projects to large ones used in mining operations. They are typically equipped with powerful engines and robust suspension systems to handle heavy loads and rough terrains.

Safety features such as rear-view cameras, backup alarms, and advanced braking systems are often incorporated into dump trucks to ensure the safety of both the operator and those working around the vehicle.

Overall, dump trucks play a crucial role in the transportation of materials, making them an essential component of many industries that rely on the efficient movement of bulk materials.
