·Suzhou promotes the development of new energy automobile industry

In 2012-2014, Suzhou will promote the application of more than 1,000 new energy vehicles, and pure electric vehicles account for more than 50% of the promotion and application of new energy vehicles. As of the end of May 2012, 218 new energy buses have been put into operation in Suzhou.

According to the information provided by the Suzhou Economic and Information Commission, there are currently 251 automobile and parts enterprises above designated size in Suzhou. Among them, more than 100 companies are engaged in the research and development and production of new energy vehicles and key components, and initially formed a new energy vehicle industry system covering commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles and special modified vehicles.

In the next two years, in addition to promoting the application of new energy vehicles, Suzhou will build five new energy vehicle manufacturers with core technical capabilities and different key vehicle types in the city, and will take shape. It will promote the development of a number of new energy vehicles, key components and new materials, and promote the transformation and upgrading of Suzhou's automobile industry and seize the commanding heights of the development of new energy vehicles.
