In a car modification shop in Wuhan City, the reporter found that many car owners are waiting to convert their private cars from gas vehicles to natural gas vehicles. A car owner said he had waited here for more than four hours. The reporter couldn't help but wonder: Why do so many people turn their attention to natural gas vehicles? How much money can be saved by such a modification?

An owner of the vehicle said, “With today's high oil prices, natural gas vehicles are cheaper and more environmentally friendly, allowing owners to save at least one-third of their costs.” Today, the number of private cars in Wuhan has reached 100,000. Taiwan, but only 2,000 were converted into natural gas vehicles. This can not help but make people wonder: why is oil to gas is not very common?

Most private car owners stated that they still have many concerns about car modification. One of the owners explained that once the modified car has problems, it will be difficult to repair it. "For example, I want to go to a 4S shop to repair a car, but the owner is likely to ask me to renovate the repair shop of this car, which will cause a lot of trouble."

In this regard, the industry pointed out that the owner of the car in the transformation of private cars, you need to get the permission of car manufacturers, or will not enjoy the warranty service. In addition, the modified car needs to be carried in a regular car shop with a maintenance permit, and the owner must also register with the relevant management department. Although the car modification looks very simple, once the illegal operation is performed, the quality and safety will be worrying.

In addition to dealing with these potential dangers, owners have to face other troubles after the car is transformed. First and foremost, the number of filling stations is far less than that of gas stations. In addition, private cars are subject to annual inspections each year. If the owner of the car is randomly refitted, the vehicle will most likely fail the inspection. The Asia-Pacific region leads the natural gas auto industry with 6.8 million gas vehicles. Followed by Latin America, there are 4.2 million vehicles, of which nearly 90% of gas vehicles are designed as dual-fuel gas vehicles that can use both gasoline and natural gas.

From the beginning of 2009, the United States has a total of 114,270 compressed natural gas vehicles, mainly buses; 147,030 liquefied petroleum gas vehicles and 3176 liquefied natural gas vehicles. Other countries that use natural gas as a bus fuel widely include India, Australia, Argentina, and Germany.

There are 500,000 compressed natural gas vehicles in OECD member countries. Among them, Pakistan's natural gas vehicle market share in 2010 was as high as 61.1%, followed by the United States 32%, and 20% in Bolivia. The number of natural gas filling stations in the world also rose to 18,202 in 2010, an increase of 10.2% over 2009.
