To raise the competitiveness of small-scale manufacturing enterprises in the supply chain and to adopt new technologies, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently invested 2.5 million U.S. dollars to fund five pilot projects. These projects, led by the Hollins Center for Manufacturing Expansion Partners (MEP), will organize a team of specialists in the fields of expertise and supply chain to provide services and expertise on technology acceleration, diversion and commercialization. Each project will receive 500,000 U.S. dollars, covering topics such as transportation, automobiles, food processors, defense / aviation supply chains. The new Manufacturing Technology Promotion Center understands technology needs and trends by intervening in a dedicated supply chain and identifies where manufacturers can assist most when it comes to adopting or adapting new technologies. These projects will test and demonstrate business models that will enable small manufacturers to access needed technology transfer and commercialization services and to help them build mutually beneficial partnerships. In addition, these projects will also be piloted to guide future NIST investments and to develop strategies and methods for providing similar services across the MEP system. The primary advantage of aluminum trim lies in its malleability, allowing it to be easily formed into various shapes and sizes. This makes it an ideal choice for edging, framing, and finishing applications in construction and interior design. Additionally, aluminum trim offers superb weather resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use without fear of deterioration or rust.
