Belco supplies exhaust gas cleaning system for the Navios fleet
DuPont's Belco Technologies recently signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the ship's exhaust gas cleaning system with the Navios Group, which will supply the 163 ships of the Navios fleet with an exhaust gas cleaning system.
     It is reported that the letter of intent also confirms that Navios and DuPont Cleantech will jointly conduct a feasibility study and economic and technical analysis, intended to modify the marine scrubbers for various newbuildings and existing ships of the fleet, from bulk carriers ( Ship type shipyard trading) to container ship (ship type shipyard trading) to tanker (ship type shipyard trading).
     Marco Dierico, business development manager for DuPont marine scrubbers, stated, “We both value effective emissions reductions, and our technical capabilities and flexible and reliable exhaust gas cleaning systems will ensure that Navios is confident in emissions standards.â€
     The Navios Group currently operates a fleet of 163 vessels and long-term leasers, including bulk and container ships of various sizes, chemical tankers, and VLCC.
     DuPont Cleantech's products include STRATCO alkylation technology, IsoTherming hydrogenation technology, MECS (product library supply) sulfuric acid production and regeneration technology, BELCO air quality control system (product library purchase supply).
