On June 25, 2013, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company's engine factory 4H assembly line ushered in the date of its move. Many forklift trucks loaded with professional equipment are busy in the workshop, and large trucks are gradually being rolled out from the workshop to the new plant of the commercial vehicle company's powertrain in the Industrial Park Xinye District Industrial Park in Shiyan.

The EQ4H engine assembly line relocation project is one of the processes of the new power plant expansion project. After the relocation, it will achieve mixed production of the 4H engine and the X7 engine, with a production capacity of 60,000 (30,000 for the 4H engine and 30,000 for the X7 engine). The director of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company’s engine plant told the reporter that the mixed flow of the two product assembly lines is to save investment and increase production efficiency on the one hand, and reserve space for the increase of production capacity of 100,000 units in the latter period.

According to Zhou Wenqiang, chief of the technical department of the engine demolition and relocation, the project team made two production preparations in order to prevent the demolition from affecting the production of the 4H engine. First, the production of the 4H engine was maintained to the old dCi11. Assembly line to production, the second is the existing 4H assembly line demolition, installation and synchronization. Since this line contains information systems such as production, quality, equipment, and electrical, the relocation time is short and there is a high technical difficulty. Engine plant technology and special equipment manufacturers have made adequate preparations and put in a lot of manpower. To ensure the completion of the relocation and installation and commissioning work within one month.

At the power plant's new plant, the reporter saw a new plant that was about to be installed at the facility. The area was about twice that of the old factory. Some of the equipment that had arrived at the site had been unpacked and placed in the designated location. Necessary to carry out various tasks.

Ye Hui, deputy director of the powertrain engine shop, said that the relocation work started on June 24 and is expected to be fully completed in mid-July. Installation and commissioning and personnel training will be completed by the end of August, and production will begin in September. After the relocation is completed, the reassembly of the assembly line will be completed. The 4H and X7 mixed-flow assembly lines total more than 40 sets (sets) of equipment with a line length of 150 meters. After the relocation and technological transformation, the new production line will undergo tremendous changes, the re-layout of the production line will be more compact, and the original bilateral operations will be changed to unilateral operations; the logistics of the self-made parts and semi-assembly lines will change from forklift to self-chain. Personnel efficiency increased by 30%; information systems, error prevention technologies, etc. were fully upgraded. At the same time, the engine plant takes this relocation as an opportunity to fully promote technological transformation, promote technological innovation, and greatly enhance the competitiveness of the factory.
